New England tied their top unbeaten stretch since the Tom Brady period as they beat AFC East rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eighth straight win for the first time since legendary quarterback Brady's closing campaign with the team in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Drake Maye threw for 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The triumph increases the New England's lead at the summit of the division as they improved to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York at the foot after dropping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to finish the New York's first possession

But the home team fought back in the second quarter as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third quarter to make it 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep earning playing time," Maye commented on the rookie. "He aims to be great."

Justin Fields threw to John Metchie late in the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side wrapped up the triumph
